Loew's Theater chain threw open the doors of his 3,000-seat Century Theatre at 511 Main Street between Mohawk and Genesee in 1921.
Started out as a movie theatre, then hosting rock concerts including: Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, Cheat Trick, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Kansas, Starcastle, The Kinks,Rush, Fleetwood Mac, The Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Jim Croce and U2. The balcony would pulsate up and down if the audience stamped their feet (waiting for encore, etc.)
